Adult Classes for Ages 16+
REVISED NEW LOCATION! ~ Effective June 2, summer art classes, workshops and summer camps will be held at the state of the art facilities at WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 800 Maryville Center Drive at Hwys 40 & 141, just three miles from our old location. Follow the signs to find Chesterfield Arts at the west end doors off the front driveway loop.

Encaustics: The Art of Wax - Rachel Santel
Students will learn the beauty and richness of the encaustic wax process in creating long lasting, beautiful artwork. They will learn various methods in creating encaustic pieces, using fusing, hot air blowing, iron method applying, monotype printing, and stylus for application details. Students will create greeting cards, monotype prints, and abstract and realistic paintings using encaustic wax as the medium.

Students learn basic construction methods off the wheel and make functional and non - functional pieces.

Illustration & Drawing with Rachel Santel
Students will learn composition, shading, value, perspective and form Work with different drawing mediums including charcoal, conte crayon and graphite pencils. More advanced students will learn how to use pastels and incorporate color into their drawings.

Painting (Oil and Acrylic)
This class is appropriate for beginner and intermediate students. All students will learn how to design and execute a strong oil/arcylic painting through composition, color, light and depth. Beginner students will receive a step-by-step lesson and demo, while more advanced students will work on improving color, strong compositions and developing a personal style.

Pottery Wheel with Heather Woodson
Students will be developing and improving wheel throwing skills through demonstations
and individualized projects. Projects may include cups, bowls, vases, platters, teapots and sculpture.
