Cake Decoration Workshop with ABC Cooking
Join us for a special 2 day design-your-own Cake workshop hosted by ABC Chefs Cooking Academy. Ever wondered how to work with fondant (a special sugar dough)? Learn how to color, roll and shape fondant just like they do on your favorite television shows and competitions. We will also learn how to use a variety of decorating tips to make stars, borders, flowers, pipe messages and regular messages. Every young chef will take home their personally dsigned and decorated fondant-covered cake that they’ve created from scratch!

Modern and Contemporary Art - St. Louis Style
This class will get teens out and exploring the plentiful visual art resources our city has to offer. We will combine short, interactive lessons and discussions on Modern and Contemporary Art History with museum and gallery visits. The first and last class will be in a classroom at Chesterfield Arts to give students historical grounding on the art they will see. Classes 2, 3, and 4 will meet at specified locations, most likely to include the Saint Louis Art Museum, The Contemporary Art Museum, Bruno David Gallery, The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art, and/or Laumeier Sculpture Park. Through this class, students will get a general idea of the cultural, historical, and political events surrounding the art movements of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as well as art being made today. They will leave feeling confident going into art museums and galleries as well as being able to intelligently talk about modern and contemporary art - even if they don't like it!

Painting & Drawing
Join Chesterfield Arts for painting and drawing class where each camper will paint a canvas and work on many different drawing activities! Students will work with a variety of paint and drawing mediums, and complete several pieces to take home. By the end of the week each student will understand the importance of composition, color, and line.

Pottery Wheel & Hand-buliding
Campers will explore sculpture and ceramics working with kiln-fired clay. Create useful items or artistic gifts for friends and family. Learn unique, but simple, ceramic techniques. Once their pieces are bisque fired the campers will artistically glaze their pieces. Each student will have at least 3-4 pieces to pick up a week after the class ends.
