Amazing
Animals with COCA
From
Native American totems to the Chinese zodiac, animals have inspired
imagery in the art and beliefs of many cultures, including our own.
Young artists will explore the roles that animals play in different
cultures through projects that may include a collaborative totem
pole, animal masks, and a zoo mural.

Tiles of Spain and Morocco

Learn
about the patterned surface design used in the creation of interior
and exterior clay tiles of Spain and Morocco. Then try your
hand at making one yourself! Each four inch square tile will
be unique and can be used to adorn a wall, floor or counter space.

Textiles of West Africa
Wednesday,
November 17
Learn
how West African textile patterns have influenced contemporary textile
designers. Then explore pattern and design through stamping
and mono-printing onto cloth with pigments and carved blocks.

Mosaics

Explore
the wild creativity of Antonio Gaudi, the Nouveau Architect from
Barcelona, Spain. Then learn the layout, design and application
of glass, mirrors, tiles, china and stones used to create unique
surfaces over commonplace objects.
